Last weekend I was on the east side of the country, and this weekend I stayed on the Pacific side. I guess that´s one advantage of a small country! My friends and I took a bus to Quepos, a little tourist town near the Pacific. Getting on the bus was kind of interesting because we first were told that there weren´t enough spots on the bus for all 5 of us, but then they told us we could get on. So we got and the bus, but other people ended up having to give up their seats for us, so we´re not really sure what was going on. But we figured it´s best just to not ask! After about a 4.5 hr bus ride, we arrived in Quepos and started walking around because we didn´t really know where we were staying. We found a hostel that my guide book said was a good and cheap place to stay. Only $9 each a night and they had a 24hr swimming pool and free breakfast! Definitely a good deal. We all stayed in the dorm room with bunk beds, which was fun because there were other random people staying there too.

Quepos isn´t too big of a town, but we managed to find a really good place for dinner and some fun places to hang out with the locals...

Saturday morning we headed to Manuel Antonio national park.

We decided we pay for a guided tour and even though we had to pay, it was totally worth it because we saw lots of sloths, monkies, lizzards, racoons, bats, crabs, bugs, and even an anaconda! It was pretty awesome. We bumped into another group of our friends from LASP, so after our tour we just all just hung out at the beaches and went a a little hike to a waterfall. It it such a beautiful place--I wouldn´t have minded just staying there forever!

Hi Rachel,
The whole family is here reading your blog. Sounds like you are having a great trip. Our biggest question is where that guys' hand is in that group picture.
Hope you are doing well.

your trip looks like a lot of fun! i wish i could hop on a plane and come see you! you are very missed back at the green! :)
You don´t even want to know...
And just a note: that snake is definitely not an anaconda... it´s a boa constrictor. But same thing, right?
